Drag the players. Play the pass. See the flag.

Attack runs left → right. Grab any circle and move it. The red line tracks the second-to-last defender, the amber line tracks the ball.

Set the scene

Drag players into position, pick a receiver below, then play the pass. The decision is judged on positions at the instant the ball is played.

Updates as you drag. Position alone is never an offence.

A player in an offside position is only penalised if they become actively involved.

A defender deliberately played the ball Deliberate play (not a deflection, not a save) resets offside.

Offside position: in the opponents' half and nearer to the goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last opponent.
Level = onside. Level with the second-to-last opponent, or with the last two, is not offside.
Offence: only when a player in an offside position becomes involved — playing the ball, interfering with an opponent, or gaining an advantage.
Rebounds: position is fixed at the last touch by a team-mate. A save, a deflection or the woodwork does not reset it — playing that loose ball from an offside position is gaining an advantage.
Exceptions: no offside from a goal kick, throw-in or corner kick — or after a deliberate play by an opponent.
